7 MILLIGAN ROAD

Ryde, Isle of Wight

A 'two up, two down' semi-detached cottage rented from Mrs WRAY at No 9, by Basil & Dorothy TOMASIN when they married in 1931.

As well as the two main rooms, it had a single storey kitchen & scullery, with an outside lavatory and a coal shed at the rear, with a 'lean to' open bike shed attached. It had small gardens front and rear.

It was partly modernised when they bought the property in the early 1960s. A larder was added, and a bathroom & toilet were installed in an extension to the single storey at the rear.

It was the family home for their children Trevor and Jane - who is shown standing outside in 1993. It was sold on Dorothy's death in 1968.
